Treasure Valley's first In-N-Out Burger is under construction: A look at the secret menu
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Construction is underway for the first planned In-N-Out Burger in the Treasure Valley. As the anticipation builds and double-doubles dance through your mind, we thought an introduction to the "secret menu" might be just the ticket.
In-N-Out is known for its simple menu: burger or cheeseburger, one patty or two. In-N-Out also has a "secret menu," and some of its items might surprise long-time regulars. For instance, did you know you can get chopped chilis on your burger? Ask for chopped chilis, and they will throw some diced pickled sport peppers on your burger.
Most people, even those who have not been to In-N-Out, have heard of a double-double. Double meat, double cheese. Did you know that you can go all the way up to a 4x4? That's four meat and four cheese.
Are four patties not your thing? Order a grilled cheese: two slices of melty American cheese, lettuce-tomato spread with onions on a bun. Protein style will ditch the bun and wrap the whole thing in lettuce for those avoiding gluten.

Animal Style, probably the most famous of the "not-so-secret menu" items, is where they grill the patties in mustard and add extra spread and grilled onions. You can also get animal-style fries, which are grilled onion, spread and melted cheese over an order of fries.
Many people, even those who are died-in-the-wool In-N-Out fans, are not the biggest fans of their fries. Ask for crispy fries. They will be left in for a few more minutes, making them hot and crispy.

Trying to eat Keto? Try a Flying Dutchman. The Flying Dutchman is two slices of cheese melted between two burger patties. No lettuce, no bun. You can add pickles and onions on top if you like.
On your next visit, try a root beer float. They will hand you a cup half full of vanilla ice cream you can top off with root beer.
And last but certainly not least, we cannot forget our four-legged best friends. Order a pup patty, and they will cook up an unsalted burger patty for your dog.
